Scott Palmer – Owner

Scott has over 30 years experience in servicing and rebuilding Harley engines and transmissions, engineering, and machining engine assemblies, and has been dyno-tuning engines since 1996. Once he was released from 3 years active duty in the U.S Army, he served an apprenticeship as a tool room machinist/model maker, then worked for several aircraft industry machine shops nationwide, and taught Machine Shop courses at a local vocational school, prior to establishing the still-growing business that it has become today.

Craig Palmer (In Memoriam)

Craig Palmer had 30 years experience in servicing and rebuilding Harley engines and transmissions. Craig is a trained Harley mechanic and machinist. He had worked as an automotive machinist, and was the shop foreman for several years at Central Service Inc., in Oneida, New York. Craig was one of the most talented cylinder head men in the country! His work was absolutely outstanding.

Jim Zike

Jim is a trained certified Motorcycle Mechanic Insitute, mechanic. He is experienced in 1000 mile, 5000 mile, and 10,000-mile service and is an expert in electrical systems diagnostic, and perfoms alot of the engine assemblies.

Hillside Motorcycle and Machine is the most comprehensive motorcycle machine shops in the entire Upstate New York, and the Northeast. Our three milling machines and one of our 4 lathes are equipped with Accurite ® and Mitutoyo ® digital read-outs. We have grinding capabilities that are not found in other motorcycle machine shops. Not only do we have the tools — we also have a 30-year experienced tool room machinist who has tooled the shop with jigs and fixtures that allow modifications including: big bore case mod’s, dual plugging, custom piston manufacture, 30 degree chambered cylinder heads, and thunder-jetted carburetors, just to name a few!


PS: Building custom motorcycles is not a problem, we’ve done this many times.
